Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington Launches New Shoe Pantry

 

September 16, 2026 | Bloomington, Indiana

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington has officially launched a new Shoe Pantry, giving kids access to brand new shoes when they need them most. The program was made possible through the generosity of Hurlow Wealth Management Group, Inc., which named New Shoe Day its 2026 Charity of the Year, along with the support of community partners.

At the Shoe Pantry's launch, 50 Club Kids went home with brand new shoes.

The smiles said it all.

As kids tried on their new shoes, one Club Kid proudly said, “I can run fast in these!”

That simple comment captures why this partnership matters. A new pair of shoes is about much more than footwear. For a child, having shoes that fit, feel good and are ready for whatever the day brings means having the confidence to run, play, participate and keep up with friends.

The Shoe Pantry is another way the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington helps remove barriers that can keep kids from fully participating in Club and school activities. Through the program, kids who need new shoes can receive a new pair at no cost.
