DESCRIPTION:Make plans to join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington virtually on Thursday\, April 8th at 6:00 p.m. for the annual event SMART Girls\, STRONG Women (Presented By: Comprehensive Financial Consultants)!\n\nThis will truly be “An Evening of Empowerment” as we share remarkable stories of overcoming the odds. We hope you join us for this unique and heart-felt event from the comfort of your own home as the Club attempts to raise the necessary funds that will enable our continuous effort to provide world-class programming to our young Club girls.\n\nThis year\, we are so excited to welcome Mona Dixon as our keynote speaker! Mona is a Boys & Girls Club alum and was named the 2010-2011 National Youth of the Year recipient. From a cardboard box to the White House\, Mona will share her miraculous story that began with humbled beginnings as she was homeless and living on the streets until the age of 13. Just four years later\, she was standing in the Oval Office being named a Presidential Appointee by President Obama. Additionally\, Mona was named one of the “Most Influential Black Women” by Essence Magazine alongside former First Lady Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. Mona credits the Boys & Girls Club with changing her life!\n\nVirtual tickets are $40.00 each\, and will be available online (https://bgcbloomington.org/sgsw/) starting Monday\, March 1st!
