Who We Are

Mission:

To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

We Provide:

-A safe place to learn and grow

-Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals

-Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences

-Hope and opportunity

The Facts:

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington is a chartered member of the national organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Across the world, there are some 4,500 Boys & Girls Clubs serving more than 4.8 million children in neighborhood facilities, schools, public housing, and military bases. Locally, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington serves over 700 youth annually and approximately 2,500 youth in community outreach programs.

Why We’re Special:

Four key characteristics define the essence of a Boys & Girls Club. All are critical in exerting positive impact on the life of a child:

-Dedicated Youth Facility
The Boys & Girls Club is a place – an actual neighborhood-based building – designed solely for youth programs and activities.

-Operation
The Clubs are open after school, during breaks, and when kids have free time and need positive, productive outlets.

- Professional Staff
Every Club has full-time, trained youth development professionals, providing positive role models and mentors. Volunteers provide key supplementary support.

- Available and Affordable to All Youth
Clubs reach out to kids who cannot afford, or may lack access to, other community programs. Dues are low, at $20 per year for the Main Club and $5 per year for the Crestmont Club.
