Bloomington Boys and Girls Club - Man Up

Man Up to Make a Difference

The Annual Man Up to Make A Different event will be hosted at the Lincoln Street Club on Thursday, December 11th. The Club believes that the potential for greatness exists in every child, and that “there is a hero in every man.” It is our goal to build the next generation of great men and provide programming for adolescent males through the Passport to Manhood program.

Learn More
The Passport to Manhood program empowers male Club members to enhance and develop their life skills (e.g. decision making and conflict resolution) through engaging and age-appropriate activities. These activities include, but are not limited to action, sports, the arts and sciences, technology and business/entrepreneurship. While paired with a male adult-mentor, the young men engage in programing that helps to develop and engage them in these growth areas. At the conclusion of the mentoring program the club holds a celebratory event to highlight the accomplishments of these young men and to raise money for the continuation of this program in future years. This year Jim ‘The Rookie’ Morris will be speaking for the Man Up to Make a Difference event. Jim Morris is the real life inspiration for the critically acclaimed Walt Disney movie, ‘The Rookie’ starring Dennis Quaid. Starting at 6:00pm dinner will be served by BBQ Train, Live Auction and Program to follow. Limited opportunity for personal networking time with Jim Morris will be available on an invitation only basis.
